Tara started at the Bellingham Athletic Club in 2005 as a Student Fitness Intern working with Mike Locke in the Sports Performance Program. She quickly took on responsibilities in several departments within the club at both the Downtown and Cordata locations. On any given day you may find her training clients and teaching classes downtown, to assisting members at the front desk and answering phone calls in the business office at Cordata. She has worked in the fitness industry since 2003 and has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Fitness and Exercise Science from Western Washington University. She is certified as a Personal Trainer and Coach through the American Council of Exercise (ACE) American Kettlebell Club (AKC) and Gravity Training System (GTS) equipment. She is continually pursuing further certification accreditation, as well as striving to continue her education on a daily basis. One of Tara’s greatest passions is exercise and believes that it is the best tool for stress relief and mood improvement. She enjoys helping people find activities that are both challenging and fun in order to reach their fitness goals. Tara strives to help each client, regardless of age or fitness level, discover a fitness lifestyle that reflects their own individual interests and aspirations. She is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys an overall healthy lifestyle. She grew up playing competitive soccer and basketball at elite levels nationally and internationally through high school. Now, when she’s not running around the club assisting clients and members, she enjoys running, hiking, downhill skiing, soccer, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.
